Kitchen Witchery Introduction
I come from a long line of Kitchen Witches. My Scottish/Irish roots have a lot of influence there. My Mamaw Sloan had a "magical" pantry that as a child and even an adult I loved spending time in there. Sitting on a stool and looking up the shelves covered in spices, crockery, pots and pans seemed to go for miles like there was no ceiling. As you looked up, you could see the fairies flying around and the curled smoke from the guard dragon in the top. It was quiet and had such a great energy I never tired of being in there. It had one small window that let a little sunshine in during the day & the moonlight at night.
And so began my love of the kitchen and cooking. My momma once told me that to be a great cook you need three things:
- A good knife
- The freshest ingredients you could have
- Love for those you are preparing the meal for
