HIM

I have done the work of man

And stole the hearts of few

I have danced along the faerylights

A midst the marshy dew

I have heard the song of the nightingale

I have walked the land of dreams

I have watched mighty ships set sail

From Moonlit towers it seems

I have slipped beyond the veil

To seek the mysteries untold

Yet in the dawn of sweet repose

Still found my soul unsold

I have called upon the mighty wind

To dance and swirl at my feet

I watched in awe how vast its strength

So stirred in depth my eyes did weep.

I have walked on arms of many kings

And played the Fool of Love

My heart adrift and a flutter

Like beating wings of the dove

Yet all that touched the lilt of me

Passion’s song remained unsung

Until you came and held the key

Life’s music had begun

You, battle scarred from loves a past

You did not see your gift

To calm the violent seas of doubt

And anchor my soul adrift

For all my longing and unchecked desire

The keys would never fit

But here you sit and here you stay

And passion’s fires are lit

With skillful hands you molded me

To stir the sleeping spark

With brilliant moves you heal the wounds

Where chains had left their mark

You brought new color to my world

And new notes to Life’s sweet song

You took my hand, you touched my heart

To say that I belong
